Santiago, Dominican Republic, is home to Misión Betel’s children’s home.
Santiago is located in a valley in the mountainous central region of the Dominican Republic called El Cibao. With nearly two million residents, Santiago is the second largest city in the country, second only to the country’s capital, Santo Domingo.
Why we do what we do
The decaying state of the communities around us demands from Christians, the ones called to be “the light of the world,” a larger demonstration of service, love, and compassion.
The Gospel is not about demanding that things be done, but doing them. It’s not about asking, but giving; it’s not about attaining, but surrendering; it’s not about condemning, but instead, rescuing. It’s about service. Christ called his followers to help those in need as a sign of His love. We are called to make a difference. We are called to serve.
